This is continues to be so much fun! Continuing to learn more about myself as an artist and you the hunter, new things are learned each time a painting gets released into the world. So happy to have you come play with me as we dance the dance of our cat and mouse game. We are back on track for a 3 for 3 response return, so kudos to you all for playing the game properly.
BLUE = SMARTS
Quite popular this one is among you wonderful treasure hunters! Complete with hipster/nerd attire, including big black framed glasses, buckteeth and a polka dot bow tie, this little PonderMonster is surely a favorite of mine too. Although he may look a bit like a blue nerdy devil sperm, his intelligence far outweighs the awkwardness of his looks.
This is where you normally see what the note inside bestows, but silly me, forgot to take a picture of the letter. But since the letter has been brought up, let's touch on how it has evolved... The problem with the letter, is that it also helps identify the painting as a found peice of art by whoever picks it up. At first, the letter was falling out, so it was placed better and more securely. Then, the letter didn't feel like it was clear enough that it is to be opened by anyone. That meant the words on the outside had to change to "A letter is inside for anyone, like you", "READ ME!!!", "NOTE INSIDE", "OPEN ME!!!"... seriously don't know how much more clear to make this. Anyways, proud of you all for finding them this time around!
Okay, let's get to the good stuff.
Since the theme is SMARTS, let's test yours with this hunt. Tried to make the clues a bit more challenging and also revolve the hiding spots around things that make you smart.
BLUE painting 1 of 3 was hidden at the Denver Public Library, in the art section next to the book BLUE by Michel Pastoureau.
"Clue: To collect #BLUE,
one must know The History of a Color. Call 115.91145 and ask for
Pastoure (the one on level 4), come find me and we'll go home together.
Painting 1 of 3 is on the loose!"
The clue tells a few things that confused some hunters, which was perfect. I was getting texts and messages saying things like, "That's not how you spell Pasteur", "Pastoure isn't a name or a person", "Is that a phone number?" No. No. No. That was fun indeed. It was a call number of a book, showing the location of it's placement. Call numbers include a number and a last name, but can only contain up to 8 letters of a name. Taking our elementary library skills into practice, in addition to the "4th floor" clue, this one should've been a slam dunk.
Congratulations to @misslupulin for racing across town (safely) and finding the painting still in it's place about 30 minutes later.
Later, @misslupulin celebrated her find with a mutual favorite pastime, beer.
BLUE painting 2 of 3 was hidden at the Denver Convention Center, next to the Big Blue Bear, taped to a pole. The second it was posted, a man walked up to me, with the painting above my head, and asked me for direction. Thinking I had been somewhat caught, I panicked a little bit, but got him to take off fairly quickly.
"Clue for #BLUE painting 2: Hey Lawrence Argent, "I see what you mean". I'd be curious too if I were 40 feet tall. Come find me please."
Lawrence Argent is the name of an artist and "I see what you mean" is the title of the big blue bear piece. Some hunters messaged me telling me they went up and down Lawrence St. and can't seem to find it. Perfect. This one took a bit of detective work, aka Google-ing.
Congrats to @dawnoverman for cracking this one so fast! Looks like they were accompanied by a painting hunting dog. Well done!
This find inspired me to take a picture with my dog Rocco whilst thinking of the 3rd and final hiding location for BLUE.
BLUE painting 3 of 3 was placed in the alley next to the Bluebird Theatre. Simply playing with the word "blue" and knowing that all smarty pants types like to take in theater and music.
"Clue: Enjoying all the meats of our cultural stew will be your first hint in finding #BLUE... "LATE AT NIGHT WHEN THE WIND IS STILL, I'LL COME FLYING THROUGH YOUR DOOR. AND YOU'LL KNOW WHAT LOVE IS FOR""
These are the lyrics to Paul McCartney's "BLUEBIRD".
Congratulations to @beckenheimowitz for figuring this out so fast!!
